Chevrolet BA – overview

The Chevrolet Series BA (Series BA Confederate or Chevrolet Confederate) is an American car produced in 1932-1933. It was so reminiscent of GM's luxury division that it even earned the nickname "Baby Cadillac." To make the budget model look prestigious, it was equipped with bullet-shaped headlights, chrome-plated ventilation doors on the sides of the hood, a sloped windshield, a mesh radiator grille and spoke-shaped wheels. The power of the 3.2-liter inline 6-cylinder engine was increased to 60 hp. The Chevrolet BA series was equipped with a 3-speed manual transmission and a “Free Wheeling” mechanism, which allowed the driver to take his foot off the accelerator pedal when driving downhill. The chassis was reinforced with an additional transverse element, the suspension was left dependent, on semi-elliptical springs at the front and rear, and the brakes were drum brakes with a mechanical drive.
