Isuzu Axiom – overview
The Isuzu Axiom is a mid-sized body-on-frame SUV produced from 2001 to 2004. There was only one generation. The vehicle was equipped with a 3.5-liter engine coupled with a 4-speed automatic transmission, but there was a choice between rear-wheel or all-wheel drive versions. The SUV was assembled at a plant in Indiana and had unreliable automatic transmissions, which was remedied by the introduction of direct fuel injection and an intelligent suspension control system with dual-mode shock absorbers. However, in July 2004, the plant, which was owned by Subaru and Isuzu, came under the control of Subaru, and the Isuzu Axiom was discontinued.
