Axiom

Isuzu Axiom generations

The Isuzu Axiom is a mid-sized body-on-frame SUV produced from 2001 to 2004. There was only one generation. The vehicle was equipped with a 3.5-liter engine coupled with a 4-speed automatic transmission, but there was a choice between rear-wheel or all-wheel drive versions. The SUV was assembled at a plant in Indiana and had unreliable automatic transmissions, which was remedied by the introduction of direct fuel injection and an intelligent suspension control system with dual-mode shock absorbers. However, in July 2004, the plant, which was owned by Subaru and Isuzu, came under the control of Subaru, and the Isuzu Axiom was discontinued. But the Chinese loved the cute design, which is why they used it for their Great Wall Hover in 2005.
