LEVC TX – overview
The LEVC TX is a 5-door, 7-seater compact van designed specifically as a hybrid taxi within its class, boasting a plug-in hybrid powertrain. This vehicle is produced by the British commercial automaker LEVC (London Electric Vehicles Company), a subsidiary of the Chinese automotive giant Geely. Thanks to its timely adoption of an electric drivetrain, the TX has been compliant with London's new transportation rules since the beginning of 2018. By April 2022, over 5,000 TX vehicles had been sold in the city, accounting for approximately one-third of London's taxi fleet. In May 2022, the manufacturer announced that more than 7,000 LEVC TX taxis had been sold worldwide. Israel, too, offers the chance to own a genuine London "battery-powered cab."
