Mercedes M-Class - catalog and technical specifications
The Mercedes M-Class is a mid-size luxury SUV produced from 1997 to 2015 by Mercedes-Benz (Germany). It was designed specifically for the North American market. The vehicle has become incredibly successful, becoming the best "Luxury Crossover SUV", and is called the ideal vehicle for Americans. Due to the fact that the letter "M" has already been used by BMW for high-performance models, the companies agreed that Mercedes-Benz will retain the right to refer to the line of SUVs as the M-Class, but will use the symbols "ML" in the model designation. The M-Class sat between the GLC and GLS. In 2015, the Mercedes M-Class was renamed GLE, which stood for "Geländewagen Lang E-Klasse" or "longer E-segment SUV". Interestingly, this vehicle served as the basis for the so-called “popemobile”, used by the Pope for parade trips to this day.
