Omoda 9 – overview

Omoda 9 is a large 5-seater crossover with a plug-in hybrid power plant, presented in 2024 under the name Omoda C9, sold in Europe as Omoda 9. In fact, the new flagship of the brand is a slightly revised Exeed RX crossover with a different emblem. Both brands, Omoda and Exeed, belong to the Chinese company Chery. The car received impressive dimensions (length 4.8 meters, wheelbase 2800 mm), a radiator grille with a classic diamond pattern, 134 LED lights at the front, a small spoiler at the rear, hidden door handles and a panoramic roof with a 1.3-meter-long sunroof. The spacious 5-seater cabin is equipped with a curved 24.6-inch display for instruments and multimedia, as well as a surround sound system from Sony. Physical switches are provided for climate control. The standard equipment includes heating and ventilation of all seats, double-layer glass with improved sound insulation, 20 ADAS assistants and “acoustically optimized” Michelin tires. The SHS (Super Hybrid System) plug-in hybrid powertrain includes a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, a 3-speed automatic transmission, a pair of electric motors and a 34.46 kWh battery. The total output of the system is 450 hp. 700 Nm of torque is transmitted to all four wheels. All-wheel drive. The large crossover needs only 4.9 seconds to accelerate to the first "hundred". On pure electricity, the Omoda 9 can travel up to 150 km, the total range with a full tank and a fully charged battery is 1200 km.
