Renault Austral - catalog and technical specifications
The Renault Austral is one of Renault's newest SUVs, a 2022 model that replaced the Renault Kadjar. The name "Austral" comes from the Latin word “australis”, meaning "southern". The new SUV is a "relative" of the Nissan Qashqai (third generation). It is based on a modified CMF-C/D platform, and is slightly larger than the Renault Qashqai. In Europe, the SUV will only be offered with hybrid powertrains. They are represented by two mild hybrids, the first with a 1.3 TCe turbocharged engine and a 12-volt starter-generator, and the second with a 1.2 TCe engine paired with a 48-volt starter-generator. The most powerful modification could be the E-Tech plug-in hybrid with a capacity of 200 hp.
