Nissan Qashqai – overview
The Nissan Qashqai is a compact SUV that has been produced since 2006. The first vehicle with this name was based on the 2004 concept, which had a similar name, but was very different from the production model both in terms of exterior and interior. The SUV was designed by Nissan Design Europe, whereas equipment and systems were developed by Nissan Technical Center Europe. Both are located in the UK. The SUV was marketed as Dualis in Australia and Japan and as Rogue Sport in the USA. The name change was due to Nissan's concerns about a possible misreading of the word "Qashqai" as "cash cow".
