Toyota MR2 generations

The Toyota MR2 is a two-seater sports car produced by Toyota from 1984 to 2007. The model was created in collaboration with Lotus and had three generations. The name is formed by the English words “mid-ship”, “run-about”, and “2-seater”. The sports car had a mid-engine layout: the engine was located behind the driver and passenger, but in front of the axle. This eliminated the presence of rear seats, providing a light front end and excellent axle weight distribution. The MR2 was conceived as a small, fuel-efficient and dynamic car, which is why it had a simple MacPherson strut front and rear suspension and an inline 4-cylinder engine.
