Toyota Yaris generations

The Toyota Yaris is a compact B-segment passenger car produced since 1999. At various times, it was offered in sedan, 3 or 5-door hatchback bodies. The name "Yaris" is derived from “Charis”, the name of the ancient Greek goddess of fun and joy. In Japan, it is called Vitz, which is consonant with the German word “Witz”, which stands for "joke". Both names emphasize the cheerful, playful nature of the car. The modern Yaris was the first model of the company, built on a new modification of the global modular platform TNGA. It is slightly shorter and lower than its predecessor, but wider and features a longer wheelbase, which made it possible to provide additional interior space. The car turned out so harmonious that it has already won the Car of the Year 2021 title in Europe.
