Triumph TR8 – overview
The Triumph TR8 is an upgraded version of the TR7 produced by British Leyland in 1980 and 1981. Some exterior similarity with the iconic American sports car Chevrolet Corvette and a powerful 8-cylinder engine made the TR8 known as the "British Corvette". At the same time, many believed that the British model was more beautiful than the American one. Unlike the previous model, the Triumph TR8 featured a successful Rover V8 engine, which was not only powerful, but also exceptionally reliable. In general, the car had high quality build and did not cause any particular complaints, so it is not known for certain why the sports car left the market so quickly.
