Registration fee (ownership tax, license fee, agrat rishuy) is a mandatory payment for the owner of any (new or used) car in Israel. The amount of the payment is known in advance, indexed once a year and tied to the consumer price index. The fee is charged annually when the registration document is renewed (Rishayon Rehev), and depends on the purchase price and the age of the car.
