Aston Martin Rapid is a luxury S-class sports car from the British automaker Aston Martin, which has been produced since 2010. It is the world’s only 4-door 4-seater sports car. The new Aston Martin Rapid S liftback is the first full-fledged 4-seater sports car. It has dimensions: 5020 mm in length, 2140 mm in width, 1360 mm in height, wheelbase is 2989 mm.
Distinctive features
The 2020 Aston Martin Rapid S is one of the few production cars with a strong personality. The machine combines modern technologies and British traditions. Signature Aston Martin’s headlights with diode stripes look equally great day and night, and two round tailpipes cause an irresistible desire to instantly start the engine. The usual handles on the doors are absent, because of this, the body looks monolithic.
There is real English aesthetics inside. Color screens are integrated into the front head restraints, the interior is hand-trimmed and the stitching on the seats with excellent lateral and lumbar support is perfectly straight. Maximum attention to detail! For example, there is a very unusual system for switching heating or blowing the seats. Everything is done with just one button and one rotating relay. When you turn in one direction the temperature rises when you turn in the other direction the temperature decreases. You can switch to the seat you want to change with the button. The gear selector is also unusual. More precisely, it does not exist. There are four buttons: two on each side of the ignition, located in the middle of the upper part of the center console, with which you can turn on the usual ‘neutral’, ‘rear’, ‘drive’ and ‘parking’.
The tachometer works counterclockwise. The loudspeakers of the Bang & Olufsen audio system are located directly below the A-pillars. The center console is trimmed in wood and covered with real piano lacquer. The second row of seats consists of two separate seats. The aesthetic pleasure is complemented by the presence of all the necessary functions for the rear passengers. There are screens, climate control, and heated and cooled seats.
Modifications
The new Aston Martin Rapid S comes to Israel with a 5.9-liter V12 petrol engine producing 558 hp. The sports car accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds with it and its maximum speed is 306 km/h. The engine is equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The average fuel consumption is 14.3 liters per 100 km.
Trim versions
The basic equipment of the new Rapid includes an alarm, central locking, immobilizer, cruise control, anti-lock braking system, stabilization system, brake assist system, and traction control system. A modern multimedia system with the ability of smartphone control and support of Android Auto and Carplay, navigation, power steering, front and rear parking sensors add to the driving experience.
