The Dacia Lodgy is a multipurpose minivan manufactured by Dacia, Romanian division of Renault Group (France). It has been produced since 2012. In 2017, the car was restyled. The restyled model can now be purchased on the Israeli market. Keep on reading to find out more about this version.

The manufacturer introduced the Dacia Lodgy Compact Van back in 2011. In some countries the vehicle is sold under the Renault brand. The vehicle is built on the same platform as the Logan. This is a practical and inexpensive compact van, one of the few in its class that offers a spacious seven-seater modification. The driving characteristics are excellent and adapted for bad roads.

Exterior

In 2017, the model was finally restyled. The new ‘face’ of the car has been brought in line with the modern design of the Dacia brand: a new radiator grille, front and rear optics and new bumpers. The vehicle is still 4,498 mm long, 1,751 wide and 1,680 mm high, and a wheelbase of 2,810 mm. The 2017/2018 Dacia Lodgy for Israel includes body-colored bumpers, black door handles and exterior mirror housings.

Interior

Israeli versions of the compact van have a seven-seater interior. The second row seat can be folded in the 60:40 ratio. The third row can also be folded up and even completely retracted, easily converting a 7-seater into a 2-seater.

The trunk volume of the 2019/2020 Dacia Lodgy is larger than that of its competitors. The 7-seater version offers a trunk volume of 207 liters or 1,861 liters with the rear seats folded down, whereas the 2-seater version offers an impressive 2,617 liters. In addition, the low and comfortable body sill makes it easy to stack and retrieve bulky goods. According to the manufacturer, the big advantage of the 7-seater version is the record space in the third row, especially the knee-room. The interior of the upgraded Dacia Lodgy has several storage compartments with a volume of 30 liters, beverage holders in the front of the center console.

Powertrains and chassis

The restyled model has acquired the new range of engines. It continues to be diverse, although only one is sold in Israel. So, since 2017, the Dacia Lodgy has been equipped with 1.3 TCe turbocharged petrol engines with 100 hp and 1.3 TCe engines with 130 hp. And the diesel model is equipped with an environmentally friendly version 1.5 Blue dCi 115, which replaced the previous diesel version in 2017, and Israeli motorists can purchase it. The front-wheel drive compact van is equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The vehicle consumes a little more than 5 liters of diesel fuel per 100 km in a combined cycle.

The new Dacia Lodgy has a MacPherson strut front independent suspension and a rear semi-independent suspension. The vehicle has front ventilated disc brakes and drum rear brakes.

Equipment

The safety systems of the compact van in the configuration for Israel include ABS, emergency braking assistance and ESC. The vehicle is ‘able’ to detect pedestrians and two-wheeled vehicles, as well as traffic signs. The van has 4 airbags: front and side for the driver and front passenger. The list of equipment includes a tire pressure monitoring system and the driver and front passenger seatbelt reminder. The vehicle is equipped with cruise control with steering wheel control keys, on-board computer.

The 7-inch color touchscreen Media Nav Evolution system, fitted as standard in the Lodge, provides easy access to various applications, which includes navigation, Bluetooth, speakerphone, radio, USB and AUX connections and an interface for your smartphone with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
