Audi R8 – overview
The Audi R8 is a mid-engined four-wheel drive sports car manufactured by Audi (Germany) since 2007. The car is available in convertible, roadster and coupe bodies. This model embodies the vision of German engineers of a major league sports car. Six-time 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Jackie Ickx called the R8 "the best-handling road car to date" and was honored by numerous awards for unparalleled performance and stunning design. The modern Audi R8 is based on the Modular Sports System platform, which is also built on the Lamborghini Huracan. Therefore, the R8 can rightly be considered a close relative of the Italian “bulls”. Its more aggressive style is borrowed from the famous Audi models of yesteryear.
