BYD Qin L EV - catalog and technical specifications

BYD Qin L EV is a mid-size electric sedan of the Chinese concern BYD, presented in March 2025. The electric car is only visually similar to its hybrid namesake Qin L DM-i third generation. In fact, these are two different models. If the hybrid is built on the DM-i 5.0 platform and is equipped with an uncontested front-wheel drive, then the electric Qin L EV is based on the e-Platform 3.0 Evo, and ... read allits drive is rear. The difference in wheelbase length is small: 2790 mm for the hybrid and 2820 mm for the electric car. But the proportions of the sedans are different: the hybrid Qin L DM-i stretches to 4830 mm, the battery Qin L EV is noticeably shorter - 4720 mm. The interior of the two sedans is made in the same style, but the BYD Qin L EV has its own characteristic differences: single-section side ventilation deflectors (instead of two-section ones for the hybrid), the transmission is controlled by the right steering column stalk (in the hybrid, the selector is on the central tunnel). In front of the driver is a three-spoke steering wheel, 8.8-inch instruments and a 15.6-inch rotary touchscreen media system. The maximum configuration will include a 12-inch projection display, wireless charging for a smartphone and a refrigerator. The electric car comes standard with DiPilot 100 autopilot, the most basic version of BYD's God's Eye system without lidar, but it does include 5 millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and 12 cameras. The car can drive autonomously from point to point on highways. At the start of sales, two versions of the BYD Qin L EV are offered, both with rear-wheel drive and Blade series lithium-iron-phosphate batteries. The base sedan received one 150 hp electric motor and a 46.1 kWh battery with a range of 470 km (according to the CLTC cycle). The advanced version has an electric motor with a capacity of 218 hp and a 56.6 kWh battery with a range of 545 km (according to the CLTC cycle).
