Eldorado

Cadillac Eldorado generations

The Cadillac Eldorado is a personal executive car produced by GM's Cadillac division from 1953 to 2002. One of the most luxurious and expensive Cadillacs of its time, the two-door flagship has been produced for 10 generations. The 1953 Eldorado Convertible and 1957-1960 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham are considered the most expensive Cadillac models of those years. The name "Eldorado" comes from the Spanish word "El Dorado" (gold) and refers to the mythical El Dorado, the lost city of gold. The Eldorado fully lived up to its name. It was the first model in the history of the automotive industry to feature a rounded windshield and an air suspension system, a truly innovative solution for its time. The unique car was not provided with any identifying marks, except for the gold-colored "Eldorado" plate in the center of the dashboard.
