Ferrari 296 GTS – overview
The Ferrari 296 GTS is a hardtop convertible spider, featuring the traditional Italian marque's GTS (Gran Turismo Spider) designation. Introduced in 2022, it is the successor to the 2021 hybrid coupe, the 296 GTB. The Spider has a unique engine cover and rear deflector, but their shapes are closely aligned with the original coupe. The balance of lift and downforce for the GTS version is the same as for the GTB model. The only active aerodynamic element, a rear spoiler, extends vertically and increases downforce by 100 kg when raised. Technically, the Spider is identical to the coupe. Its 3-liter V6 biturbo engine, located behind the seats, produces 663 hp, while the electric motor situated between it and the 8-speed preselector gearbox delivers 167 hp. The hybrid system's peak power is 830 hp, and the rear-wheel drive is equipped with an electronically controlled differential.
