KGM Musso – overview
The KG Mobility Musso is a large crew-cab body-on-frame pickup truck whose name means “Rhinoceros” in Korean. It debuted in 2018 under the name SsangYong Musso, replacing the SUV produced in 1993–2005. After the rebranding of the company, SsangYong was renamed KG Mobility Musso. The brutal pickup truck has impressive dimensions (length 5405 mm, wheelbase 3210 mm, cargo platform 1610 mm), frame design, rear or all-wheel drive with a rigidly connected front axle and reduction gear. The rugged off-road image is emphasized by massive black plastic linings on the wheel arches. After the 2021 restyling, Musso lost its petrol options, retaining only the e-XDi diesel engine with a capacity of 180-202 hp. paired with a manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. But the pickup truck received a fairly impressive list of basic equipment: 12.3-inch digital instruments, multimedia with an 8-inch screen and support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, separate climate control, rear view camera, light and rain sensors, front and rear sensors parking, autonomous braking, blind spot monitoring, automatic high beams, driver monitoring and much more. In January 2025, the company announced the launch of a separate sub-brand Musso, designed exclusively for pickup trucks, the first-born will be the electric Musso EV.
