Land Rover Series I – overview
The Land Rover Series I is a compact SUV that was produced by Rover from 1948 to 1956, and later by British Leyland. It was the first mass-produced civilian four-wheel drive vehicle with doors and a hardtop. The vehicle was built on a fully welded box frame. The stainless steel body was exceptionally durable. Interestingly, even 30 years after the cessation of production, almost all of the released Land Rover Series I SUVs remained on the move.
