McLaren 720S – overview
The McLaren 720S is a Super Series coupe or convertible sold as a replacement to the 650S since May 2017. The car has a mid-engined, rear-wheel drive layout, lifting doors and a powerful engine. The body design is inspired by the great white shark. The coupe is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged engine with 720 hp, paired with a robotic dual-clutch gearbox. The ProActive Chassis Control II active suspension system is an evolution of the system used in the 650S. It is equipped with accelerometers at the top and pressure sensors at the bottom of the dampers that inform the car's on-board computer about driving conditions in real time for optimal suspension settings.
