Mercedes S-Class – overview
The Mercedes-Benz S-Class is the flagship series of executive cars produced by Mercedes-Benz (Germany) since 1972 in sedan, coupe and convertible bodies with rear or all-wheel drive. The S-Class models have short- and long-wheelbase modifications (with the prefix "L") with gasoline, diesel and hybrid engines. Starting from the third generation, all cars have high-performance modifications from the Mercedes-AMG division. The letter "S" in the name comes from the German word "Sonderklasse", which means "special class". The flagship Mercedes-Benz S-Class is one of the best-selling luxury sedans in the world.
