Toyota Aygo – overview

The Toyota Aygo is a compact A-segment front-wheel drive city car. The model was developed by Toyota (Japan) and PSA Peugeot Citroën (France). It has been produced at the Toyota Peugeot Citroën Automobile Czech plant in the Czech Republic since 2005. The name "Aygo" comes from the English "i-go", which symbolizes freedom of movement. It is currently offered as a 5-door hatchback, but earlier there were also 3-door versions. The car looks sporty and young, featuring a characteristic cross-shaped front pattern. The hatchback is designed for four people, but the back seat does not provide a lot of space. In 2021, the most compact and affordable Toyota on the European market slightly changed its image: the manufacturer calls the new Aygo X an SUV: a black plastic body kit, 11 mm higher ground clearance, large wheels with a diameter of 17 or 18 inches, and the windshield tilt angle reduced by 10%. There are no all-wheel drive versions.
