Toyota Camry generations

The Toyota Camry is an E-segment passenger car that has been produced since 1982. The name "Camry" comes from the Japanese phonetic transcription for the character 冠 (kanmuri), which means "crown". To date, the car has 8 generations. Most often it comes as a sedan, but at different times it could be an estate, hatchback, liftback and convertible. It can be equipped with both front and all-wheel drive. To date, more than 21 million units have been sold worldwide, which allows it to consistently enter the top ten most popular cars in the history of the automotive industry. Interestingly, the manufacturer produced more compact and less dynamic modifications for Japan, and larger cars with V6 engines and a different exterior design for the USA. The modern Camry has a hybrid system based on a 2.5-liter engine with a CVT, while the remaining versions (L4 2.5 and V6 3.5) are equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The all-wheel drive model received a 2.5-liter engine. The e-Four version has an additional electric motor on the rear axle and a total output of 218 hp (the electric motor assists the rear axle only at speeds up to 10 km/h to make it easier to start from a standstill on slippery surfaces).
