Triumph TR6 – overview
The Triumph TR6 is a sports car produced by Triumph Motor Company (UK) from 1968 to 1976. According to Autocar magazine, “It is a very masculine machine, calling for beefy muscles, bold decisions, and even ruthlessness on occasion”. The TR-6 remains a style icon of British sports cars, nicknamed "hairy-chested sports cars". It is very simple, straightforward, minimally comfortable, but fast and powerful. Interestingly, the shortcomings of the car only added to its fame: an engine producing either 132 or 150 hp, which was too much for a small car; it was difficult to rotate the steering wheel, that's why powerful male hands were needed; a severe suspension, forcing drivers to be constantly on their guard, and other joys.
