Volvo EX40 – overview
Volvo EX40 is a new name for the XC40 Recharge Pure Electric electric crossover. The name change occurred in February 2024 after Volvo decided to unify the designations of its electric models. The XC40 index remains for all modifications with internal combustion engines (including hybrids), the Recharge prefix is a thing of the past - rechargeable hybrids are now content with the usual T6 and T8 indexes depending on power. In addition to the new nameplates, the Volvo EX40 crossover received a new Performance package for the top two-engine versions: it adds 34 hp. power and increased response to the accelerator pedal, and exclusively by software. As a result, all-wheel drive crossovers with this package develop 442 hp. versus 408 hp for regular versions. In addition, the power reserve was increased and a special Black Edition was added. Otherwise, it is the same compact electric crossover, 4.4 meters long, well equipped and traditionally safe.
