Step-by-step manual for checking spam messages on iPhone (iOS), Android, and Windows Phone (relevant for Lumia and other devices running Windows 8.1 / 10 Mobile).
How to view SMS marked as spam on iPhone (iOS)
- Step 1: Open the Messages app. It’s the default app with the green speech bubble icon.
- Step 2: Go to the Filters tab. If message filtering is enabled, you’ll see "Filters" in the top-left corner — tap it.
- Step 3: Select "Unknown Senders". This tab shows SMS from numbers not saved in your contacts and potential spam.
Additionally:
If a third-party spam filter (like Truecaller) is installed, extra categories like "Spam" or "Suspicious" may appear under the Filters tab.
How to view SMS marked as spam on Android
Note: The interface may vary depending on your device brand and Android version. The example below uses Google Messages (default app).
- Step 1: Open the Messages app. The icon usually looks like a blue chat bubble.
- Step 2: Tap the three dots (⋮) or your profile icon in the top-right corner.
- Step 3: Select "Spam & blocked". This is a separate folder where suspicious messages are placed.
- Step 4: View the messages. For SMS from AUTOBOOM, tap "Not spam" or "Unblock".
How to restore important messages:
- On iPhone: Add the number to your contacts or disable message filtering.
- On Android: Open the message in the "Spam" folder and tap "Not spam".
How to view SMS marked as spam on Windows Phone
On Windows Phone, messages are filtered using the built-in "Call + SMS Filter" app.
- Step 1: Open Settings. Swipe left on the home screen and tap "Settings".
- Step 2: Find "Call + SMS Filter". It may be called slightly differently. If not installed, you may need to update your phone or install it via the Store (if still available).
- Step 3: Enable filtering (if not already on). The first time you launch it, you’ll need to accept the terms and restart the phone.
- Step 4: Check blocked numbers. You’ll see a list of blocked numbers. Note: messages from these numbers are not saved — they’re blocked immediately and do not appear in any spam folder like on Android or iOS.
- Step 5: Unblock the sender AUTOBOOM.
