Mitsubishi Eclipse – overview
The Mitsubishi Eclipse is a 4-seater sports coupe that has been produced since 1989 and sold in various countries, from the USA to Brazil, from Japan to Germany. The car was named after an unbeaten 18th-century English racehorse that had won 26 races. In the USA, the first generation was sold under the Eagle Talon and Plymouth Laser names. There were four generations in total, and the last one was removed from the assembly line in 2011. Interestingly, the very last coupe was auctioned off and the proceeds were given to charity. In 2017, the name (but not the model itself) was revived as a stylish Eclipse Cross SUV.
