Opel Tigra – overview
The Opel Tigra name has been applied to two different cars produced by Opel: one was produced from 1994 to 2001, the second from 2004 to 2009. The Tigra A is a small 2-door coupe, equipped with 1.4-1.6-liter Ecotec engines with an output ranging from 90 hp to 106 hp. The Tigra B is a 2-seater convertible with a retractable hardtop. It was actually a new mini-sports car based on the third generation Opel Corsa. The Tigra B was distinguished by its impressively neat, almost luxurious design. The full name of the car is Tiger TwinTop. The entry-level model used a 1.4-liter engine with 90 hp from the 0 family, while the top car was equipped with a 1.8-liter Ecotec engine from the Corsa GSi with a capacity of 125 hp. In 2005, the manufacturer introduced an economical version with a 1.3-liter Fiat Multijet diesel engine.
