Porsche Panamera – overview
The Porsche Panamera is a 5-door Gran Turismo sports car with a front-engine layout and all-wheel or rear-wheel drive. It has been produced by the German automaker Porsche since 2009. It is offered in liftback, 5-door estate and long liftback bodies. The car was named after the Mexican long-distance race Carrera Panamericana, held in the 1950s. The company positions the model as an uncompromising sports car for every day. It combines seemingly contradictory qualities: the dynamics and comfort inherent in sports cars with the versatility of a sedan. Porsche planned to produce 20,000 of these cars a year, but the Panamera far exceeded expectations: over 235,000 units have been sold in the 10 years since its release.
