The Porsche Panamera is a five-door Gran Turismo sports car with a front-engine layout and four-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive. It has been produced by Porsche (Germany) since 2009 as a liftback, a 5-door estate and a longer liftback. In 2021, Israeli buyers can purchase the second generation Panamera restyled in 2020. In Israel, the Porsche Panamera is available as a liftback in two hybrid modifications: Panamera 4 E-Hybrid and Panamera 4S E-Hybrid, both are all-wheel drive.

A sports car without any compromise in terms of everyday driving, this is how the company positions its creation. A sports car, a travel sedan, a pioneer in the hybrid segment, the Panamera has always been distinguished by its versatility and a unique combination of seemingly uncombinable qualities. The second generation Porsche Panamera, released in 2016, has become even more sporty and elegant. The car boasts a flatter roofline, a noticeable slight curve at the rear and eye-catching horizontal headlights. In 2020, the car was restyled.

In 2021, Porsche offers three Panamera plug-in hybrid models at once, each of which is offered in three variants: liftback, Executive (longer version of the liftback) and Sport Turismo (5-door estate). Compared to earlier hybrids, the electric driving range has been increased by 30%. And the use of redesigned chassis components and control systems, combined with a new generation of steering and new tires, has brought comfort and sportiness to a new level. Israeli buyers can only purchase the liftback version and only in two modifications: Panamera 4 E-Hybrid and Panamera 4S E-Hybrid. Below you can find more information about the Israeli modifications of the 2020/2021 Porsche Panamera.

Exterior

The new Porsche Panamera is now standardly equipped with the SportDesign front bumper with an original radiator grille, large side slots of the cooling system and headlights with a single linking element. The fully new front face of the Panamera Turbo S can be recognized by the larger side air intakes and the new design of the body colored elements connected horizontally that additionally emphasize the width of the car. The light modules of the Turbo double headlights now will be located more far away from each other.

The LED strip at the rear end has a changed contour and elegantly intersects the trunk lid. It seamlessly connects both redesigned LED taillights. The GTS models are standardly equipped with new, tinted taillights with a dynamic switch-off delay function (Path-to-Home function). The number of available wheel designs has increased to ten and now includes three new 20- and 21-inch options. The 2020/2021 Porsche Panamera 5-door 4-seater liftback is 5,049 mm long, 1,937 mm wide and 1,423 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm. The trunk volume is 495 liters (1,334 liters, which is the maximum).

Interior and equipment

The Porsche Communication Management (PCM) infotainment system includes additional digital functions and services, such as the optimized online Voice Pilot, the Risk Radar service, which provides traffic information and warns of dangerous situations on the road, the wireless version of Apple CarPlay and many other Connect services.

Moreover, there is a wide range of innovative lighting and driver assistance systems, including lane keeping assist with traffic sign recognition, which is now standard, as well as Porsche InnoDrive with adaptive cruise control, night vision, lane change assistance system, LED matrix headlights with PDLS Plus dynamic lighting, parking assistant with all-round visibility and head-up display.

Engines, chassis and modifications

The 2021/2022 Panamera 4S E-Hybrid is equipped with a 17.9 kWh battery and has an electric driving range of up to 54 km in the WLTP cycle (up to 64 km in the NEDC cycle). The high-performance plug-in hybrid combines a 100 kW (136 hp) electric motor integrated into an 8-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission and a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine with 440 hp, which provides a maximum total torque of 750 Nm and a total output of 560 hp. The dynamic performance of the new model is impressive: with the standard Sport Chrono package, the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds. The top speed is 298 km/h. The driving modes have also been improved for even more efficient energy use.

The 2021/2022 Panamera 4 E-Hybrid is equipped with the high-voltage battery, the capacity of which has been increased from 14.1 kWh to 17.9 kWh thanks to optimized battery cells. The electric driving range has been increased to 56 km within the WLTP cycle and up to 64 km within the NEDC cycle. Just as before, the electric motor is paired with a 2.9-liter V6 biturbo petrol engine producing 330 hp, which provides a total output of 462 hp. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h now occurs in 4.4 seconds, while the top speed reaches 280 km/h.

Porsche plug-in hybrids are usually charged at home: either from a regular household outlet or from a high-current outlet. The standard Porsche Mobile Charger enables using a charging capacity of up to 7.2 kW, depending on the model. In addition, you can use the Mode 3 cable to charge your car at a public station.

The chassis and control systems of the 2021 Porsche Panamera have been re-tuned for an even sportier yet more comfortable handling. A number of systems were used for the first time. For example, the redesigned Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) offers a noticeably improved shock absorber comfort, while the electric roll control Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control Sport (PDCC Sport) provides an even more effective stabilization of the vehicle body. Moreover, new models are now equipped with new tires and a new generation steering system.
