Alfa Romeo Stelvio Crossover. 1st generation 2016
Alfa Romeo Stelvio (Stelvio) is a compact luxury crossover of the Italian brand Alfa Romeo, which has been produced since 2016. It can be either back-wheel drive (diesel models) or all-wheel drive (gasoline and diesel models). You could buy the first generation of the crossover in Israel in 2020.
The 5-door 5-seater crossover 2016/2017 model year has compact dimensions: 4687 mm long, 1903 mm wide, wheelbase is 2818 mm. It is spacious inside and can easily accommodate 5 passengers. The trunk volume is 499 liters.
Distinctive features
The new Alfa Romeo Stelvio looks sporty and aggressive. And it has a typical character for Alfa Romeo. The embossed bonnet, narrow LED headlights, the branded triangular grille, and large air intakes on the front bumper immediately show the sporty genes of the crossover. Swollen wheel arches, chrome edging around the glass, a huge boot lid with a small wing in the middle, a spoiler, an unusual rear bumper, and a massive plastic insert, which integrates large chrome tailpipes, testify to the power.
The interior also shows the influence of ‘big racing sport’. Typical Alfa Romeo instruments have a vertical zero position of the hands and the engine start button is on the steering wheel. The interior is roomy, trimmed with leather with wood and chrome accents. The steering wheel is also sporty, 3-spoke, equipped with massive paddle shifters. The dashboard has two deep grooves with large analog gauges for the speedometer and tachometer. The large monitor of the informative on-board computer is located in the middle. The center console houses a 10-inch touchscreen display for the multimedia and navigation system. The large, intuitive climate control unit is below the air vents. The console is made entirely of wood, with a small gear selector and three round panels. One panel is responsible for multimedia, the other for working with radio stations, and the third for the choice of driving modes.
Modifications
The 2019/2020 Stelvio crossover is supplied in three versions in Israel. All of them are all-wheel drive with gasoline turbo engines. All are complemented by an 8-speed automatic transmission. Two regular models are equipped with 2-liter engines of different power - 200 and 280 hp., which are capable of producing a maximum of 215 and 230 km/h, respectively. The top model Stelvio Quadrifoglio is equipped with a 2.9-liter V6 biturbo gasoline engine, producing 510 hp. It accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds! And the maximum speed is 283 km/h! The Quadrifoglio version also includes an active rear differential with two multi-plate clutches (for thrust vectoring), reinforced suspension, and brakes. Brembo ceramic brakes and even carbon-framed Recaro front seats will be offered for extra pay.
Trim versions
MONZA, SPORT, STANDART, TI, and VELOCE trim versions with a panoramic roof are available to Israeli buyers of the 2020 Alfa Romeo Stelvio.
Regardless of the trim version, the basic equipment of the crossover includes at least five airbags, central locking, a system for attaching child seats in front and behind, a rear camera (except Sport), cruise control or its adaptive version, a system for selecting a driving mode, front and rear parking sensors (there are only rear ones in Sport), a large number of electronic assistants and safety systems, which, in addition to ABS and ESP, include a brake assist system, collision avoidance, an uphill start assist system, and a traffic sign recognition system. There is blind-spot monitoring, lane control, driver fatigue sensor everywhere except Sport trim version.
There is a modern multimedia system with support of Carplay and Bluetooth, folding rear seats, advanced power accessories, including electrically folding mirrors and opening the trunk without using hands, dual-zone climate control, active power steering, cooled glove box, multifunction steering wheel almost everywhere with paddle shifters, push-button start, keyless entry and fuel-saving start-stop system, adaptive lighting and light and rain sensors. This is not a complete list of features that Alfa Romeo Stelvio 2020/2021 has.
