In 2021, the BMW X4 was restyled.
BMW X4 is a compact all-wheel-drive crossover manufactured by BMW since 2014. Today the Israeli market presents the second generation SUV BMW X4 of the 2018 model year.
First generation
The first-generation BMW X4 was released from 2014 to 2018. All versions had an all-wheel drive. The first X4, based on the X3, inherited its technical features but received a new coupe image with a lowered roofline. The X4 got longer and lower than the X3, less comfortable in the rear seat row and trunk volume, but more functional in its exterior. The X4 interior had much in common with the X3 one, but there were some differences as well, for example, in driver’s and rear seat construction. The Bavarians considered the X4 to be the first Sports Activity Coupe in the range of compact vehicles. The first generation X4 got 200 000 buyers.
Second generation
The second generation BMW X4 has been released since 2018 till now. The new X4 is based on the CLAR modular platform. All crossover versions include an all-wheel drive. Compared with the first X4 it has increased its length but reduced its aerodynamic drag coefficient and weight. The BMW Group’s Design Director Adrian van Hooydonk said about the new X4 “The new BMW X4 combines an off-road character of X family cars with the power of sports car”. And it really does!
