The Citroën e-C4 is an electric model from the Stellantis Group, equipped with a 100 kW (136 hp) electric motor and a 50 kWh battery capable of providing a driving range of up to 350 km. Thanks to recent technological improvements that have also been made to other models in the e-CMP series, the driving range of the new e-C4 has been increased by 7 kilometers to 357 kilometers. In real life, you can expect a range increase by as much as 30 kilometers, as it all depends on the operating conditions.

According to the manufacturer, the technical measures to increase the range comprise a different gear ratio and a new heat pump, which can be controlled via a hygrometer sensor in the cabin. Citroën has also upgraded the e-C4 to more efficient tires with low rolling resistance.

Moreover, Citroën has introduced an update for its PHEV C5 Aircross Hybrid model. It consists only in constant reminders to the driver about the need to recharge the battery. As it turned out, many drivers simply ignore the possibility of driving an electric motor, so they do not charge the batteries. The developers believe that such a reminder should optimize the performance of hybrid plug-in modules and reduce the car’s environmental impact.

The front-wheel drive SUV is equipped with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine and a 13.2 kWh battery. The driving range is 61 km, while the fuel consumption is 1.4 l/100 km (on average). The model costs from 222 345 shekels (including the registration fee).

The notification is played once a day on the infotainment display after 5-10 days of driving without recharging. If the vehicle is not charged for 30 days, the notification appears twice a day. This should encourage drivers to charge batteries in a timely manner. In the UK and France, the option is already being implemented, in other countries it will be introduced in early 2022.
