The new Honda Integra has been unveiled by GAC-Honda, the joint venture between Chinese and Japanese companies. This name last appeared in Honda Motor’s model range 15 years ago. And now Honda has offered a modern vision of the Integra: the Acura Integra sports liftback will appear in the United States (it will belong to the luxury class and will appear in 2022), whereas the sedan introduced in China will become available in December 2021. Such a new vision does not mean a new model. The 2021/2022 Honda Integra is the sporty version of the Honda Civic, featuring a top-end engine with 182 hp, two gearboxes to choose from (a CVT and a 6-speed manual transmission) and some exterior modifications.

The original Integra was produced from 1985 to 2006 in sedan, hatchback and coupe bodies. Interestingly, the second generation model featured the famous B16A engine with VTEC system, which was the world's first serial naturally aspirated engine with a specific power of 100 hp per one liter of working volume.

Interesting fact

So, the new Honda Integra is actually a version of the latest generation Civic, and it differs from the original by bumpers and lighting equipment, as well as by larger wheels (18-inch instead of 17-inch). The body length is 1 mm longer (4,675 mm). The options comprise a sporty package: a spoiler on the trunk lid, black mirror housings, darkened moldings instead of chrome. The interior features seat decorative inserts in body color. The rest of equipment is the same: digital instruments, multimedia with a 9-inch screen, a sunroof or a panoramic roof that offers a gorgeous view of the sky.

The newcomer’s engine has also been borrowed from the Civic. It is a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with an output of 182 hp. In addition to the CVT, which is the only option for the original model, the new Integra also has a 6-speed manual transmission. By the way, the 2021/2022 Honda Integra is not the first model to be brought back to life by Honda. Similar to the Accord, Inspire and Avancier (twin of the UR-V SUV) travel on the roads of the Celestial Empire.
