Conqueror of Chinese megacities
The second generation Buick Excelle is a car manufactured under GM’s Buick brand, designed specifically for sales in the growing Chinese automotive market. It has been produced since 2018 as a small and relatively low power sedan with a great interior trim, at least by Chinese standards.
Revival against the odds
The first generation Excelle sedan, created back in 2003 based on the Daewoo Lacetti (also known as the Chevrolet Lacetti) by SAIC-GM, was a bestseller in China. For 13 years, more than 2.6 million cars were sold.
Therefore, everyone was surprised by the initiative of GM China to stop production of the Buick Excelle car in 2016. It no longer matters why the manufacturer tool such a radical decision. What matters is that the Excelle continued to be produced. Moreover, the second generation model was presented in 2018.
