Tesla in Israel. Updated price list for 2023
Tesla Israel was the first to show an updated price list for 2023. The price of the most popular and best-selling model, the Tesla Model 3 has increased by 18,000-20,000 shekels, while the Tesla Model Y has risen in price by 20,000 shekels. The price increase is due to the tax increase on electric vehicles in accordance with the Israeli environmental tax plan, signed back in late 2019, so there is nothing surprising here. However, it should be noted that the Finance Committee will meet in January 2023 to discuss electric vehicle tax credits, so everything can still change.
Tesla Israel does not increase the cost of its models, the pre-tax price has remained unchanged, which means all changes are solely the result of the tax increase. As a reminder, the Finance Committee has decided that from January 2023, the purchase tax on electric vehicles will increase from 10% to 20%, and the maximum benefit limit will be reduced from 75,000 to 60,000 shekels.
Tesla Model 3
The RWD (rear-wheel drive, driving range - 491 km) and AWD Long Rage (all-wheel drive, driving range - 614 km) modifications will increase in price by 18,000 shekels, while the top-end all-wheel drive Performance version with a driving range of 547 km and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3, 3 seconds will rise in price by 20,600 shekels. The final cost of the entry-level rear-wheel drive Tesla Model 3 in Israel will start at 242,746 shekels, while the Performance version will cost 319,525 shekels.
The price increase applies to standard equipment, if you want to choose a model of a different color (not white), you will have to add about 10,000 shekels and the same amount if you order 19-inch wheels (18-inch wheels are basic). The interior, made in white (instead of black), will cost about 8,000 shekels. We have to add another ‘fly in the ointment’ to remind you how the price has changed since the beginning of deliveries: cost of the entry-level RWD version started from 179,754 shekels in 2021, it already cost 224,659 in 2022, and 242,746 shekels in 2023. And we are waiting for the new, completely updated, Model 3, which is preparing to enter the assembly line in the third quarter of 2023, and it is likely to cost even more.
Tesla Model Y
The Tesla Model Y, a mid-size SUV based on the Model 3 platform and intended for the mass market, appeared in Israel only in April 2022. We have already told you why many want it, but not everyone buys it. In 2023, it will also increase in price by about 19,600 shekels. The cost of the entry-level version will be 351,389 shekels and, as in the case of the Model 3, this is the price prior to all possible changes and additions to the trim level.
Tesla Model S Plaid and Model X Plaid
The price for the flagship liftback, the Tesla Model S Plaid (four-wheel drive, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h - 2.1 seconds, driving range - 600 km), and the full-size electric SUV, the Tesla Model X Plaid (all-wheel drive, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h - 2.6 seconds, driving range - 543 km), recently introduced in Israel, cost the same 825,418 or 848,590 shekels, respectively. This applies to entry-level versions.
