Audi SQ5 Sportback SUV. Trendy silhouette and great dynamics
The Audi SQ5 Sportback SUV was introduced in November 2020. In order to create another new model, just take the existing powerful SQ5 (in turn, based on the Q5), put on the body with a modified rear end and you’ll get the top-end Q5 Sportback. The brand new SQ5 Sportback is a stylish and effective combination of the dynamics and power of a coupe-shaped SUV with the comfort of a car for everyday driving.
Smooth and sloping roofline underlines a new sporty style, while quattro all-wheel drive delivers a consistently intense driving experience. The new Audi SQ5 Sportback is not officially avaialble in Israel, which is a pity. A charged coupe-shaped SUV would appeal to our forward-minded young people. But on the other hand, we have the first generation Audi Q5 Sportback, which was released in 2020.
The Audi Q5 Sportback is supplied to Israel with a 2-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine with 265 hp and the MHEV micro-hybrid in combination with the 7-speed S tronic robotic gearbox. The vehicle offers the quattro all-wheel drive with ultra technology with rear wheel couplings. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h occurs in 6.1 seconds, and the top speed reaches 240 km/h.
Exterior
The 2021 Audi SQ5 Sportback looks dynamic, confident and catchy thanks to the successful design solutions. One of its features is the wide rear end with gently sloping pillars, which further enhances the roof line and accentuates the impression of the flowing body shapes. The dynamic design is underlined by a rear diffuser with a horizontal chrome strip across the entire width of the vehicle and a sports spoiler located at the roof edge.
Interior
The interior was almost entirely borrowed from the original SQ5 model. Interestingly, the entry-level SQ5 Sportback is supplied to the European market with a simple climate control, standard seats with combined upholstery and analog instruments, whereas the same entry-level versions for Russia and the USA are better equipped, featuring three-zone climate control, a digital dashboard, as well as a sound system with 10 speakers, modern multimedia with a touchscreen that supports integration with a smartphone, a pair of additional USB connectors for rear passengers, adaptive S-air suspension and more.
Powertrains
The new Audi SQ5 Sportback can be equipped with two engines. In Europe, it is sold with a 3-liter turbocharged V6 TDI diesel engine that produces 341 hp and 700 Nm and is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and permanent all-wheel drive. In the USA and the Russian Federation, the vehicle features a 3-liter TFSI gasoline engine with 349 hp, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. This version accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, whereas the diesel version does it in 5.1 seconds, but it has a 48-volt starter-generator, which is part of the Start-Stop system and is connected when starting off.
