Dacia Duster - is a compact crossover from Renault’s Romanian budget brand, being produced since 2010. There are two types of the drive available: front-wheel and four-wheel drive. The 2nd generation SUV 5-doors Dacia Duster MY 2017 is currently available on the Israeli market.
In some markets, Dacia Duster is marketed as Renault Duster. Duster is a very popular crossover, during just the first 4 years of its release, 1 million cars were sold. The crossover has a version with a pickup body – Duster Oroch, there is its ‘brother’ – Nissan Terrano, and another one relative car is- Renault Kaptur.
The first generation
The first generation of Dacia Duster was produced from 2010 to 2017, and it was restyled in 2013. The first Duster was based on the updated B0 Nissan platform together with Nissan Juke, it was available both in front-wheel and four-wheel drive. At the same time, the first Duster was a close relative of Logan and Sandero in terms of technical characteristics and some body parts, although its wheelbase was increased, an independent suspension with McPherson struts appeared instead of a rear curling beam in the four-wheel version. The first generation Renault Duster had a steel crankcase as standard, 21 cm ground clearance, and short overhangs (30 ° approach angle, 35 ° exit angle).
After being restyled in 2013 Dacia Duster received a new front section, a new steering wheel, improved multimedia, and navigation system, engines were also modernized.
The second generation
The second generation of Dacia Duster is being produced since 2017. The second Duster retained the same platform, but in many other terms, it has been improved. ‘More Duster than ever’ - this is how the authors characterize the progress achieved. And this applies not only to external changes. The new Dacia Duster has an impressive, sporty, and modern design. The front part of the body has been updated, roof rails were added.

The power frame of the new Dacia Duster 2017/2018 body is stronger than the previous one. The new SUV has impressive ground clearance, short overhangs, a large obstacle clearance angle, wide wheel arches, and reliable protection of components and assemblies. Its suspension is ready for tough testing and ensures a comfortable ride regardless of the type of road surface.
The top-end Dacia Duster 2019/2020 now has climate control, tracking the blind spots of mirrors, keyless entry, engine start button, automatic switching of headlights, and curtain airbags. The crossover seats received a new frame and upholstery, headrest height adjustment, and lumbar adjustment, and the driver’s seat also received a new armrest. Also a new dashboard and a new ergonomic center console.
