The first presidential DS 7 is the DS7 Crossback SUV that was used as a ceremonial vehicle for the inauguration of Emmanuel Macron in 2017. In 2021, the French luxury brand DS owned by Citroen created a new unique SUV for French President. The current modification, dubbed the Elysee, was officially unveiled on November 13th. The new DS 7 Crossback promises to be the technological flagship of the entire PSA Group.

The presidential DS 7 is a special vehicle with a 200 mm longer wheelbase (2.94 m). The interior of the Elysee is finished in leather and black Alcantara and features two luxurious heated, ventilated and electrically adjustable seats. There are also USB ports and wireless charging for smartphones. Inside and outside, the vehicle is decorated with nameplates containing the French tricolor and the letters RF (République Française).

The DS 7 Elysee features blue and red flashing beacons that shine through the grille, front fender flags (removable) and original 20-inch wheels. The SUV even has a special, presidential, dark blue Ink Blue color. Plus, it clearly has special communications and armor.

The vehicle comes with the E-Tense hybrid system that comprises a 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 300 hp and an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The new DS 7 is officially delivered to Israel in three modifications: with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with 180 hp; with a 2-liter diesel engine with 180 hp; with a hybrid system. The first two are front-wheel drive. The latter is an all-wheel drive rechargeable hybrid with a total output of 300 hp, which is the same as that of the President of France. Average fuel consumption is 2.2 l/100 km. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h occurs in 6.5 seconds, and the top speed reaches 220 km/h.
