Hyundai Kona is a compact SUV from the South Korean car manufacturer, Hyundai Motor, produced since 2017. In 2020, the 2017 first generation Hyundai Kona 5-Door SUV was offered on the Israeli market.
The 2019/2020 Hyundai Kona 5-Door 5-Seater SUV is compact in size: 4,165 mm long, 1,800 mm wide, and wheelbase of 2,600 mm. The trunk volume reaches 361 liters.
Distinctive features
The new 2019 Kona boasts an athletic body and two-level lighting. The team of stylists has been creative in designing the front end, where the ‘eyebrows’ of the navigation lights rise above the main headlights. As for the stern, we can see the same creative approach here, as the brake lights are located much higher than the side turn signals. Despite the wild imagination-inspired design, Kona’s silhouette is graceful and dynamic.
Modifications
In Israel, the new Kona comes as a front-wheel-drive car, available in two versions: with a petrol engine and with a hybrid system. The petrol engine is a turbocharged 1.6 liter engine producing 177 hp, capable of providing a top speed of 210 km/h. Average fuel consumption is 6.3 liters per 100 km. The engine is complemented by a 7-speed robot unit. The hybrid system is equipped with a 1.6-liter engine producing 101 hp and an electric motor. It allows the crossover to accelerate to a speed of 160 km/h, but the fuel consumption is impressive! The average highway consumption reaches only 3.6 liters per 100! It is complemented by a 6-speed robot unit.
Trim versions
The 2020 Hyundai Kona offers its Israeli buyers three trim versions: Surpime, Premium and Prestige. All trim versions of the new SUV incorporate 6 airbags, central locking, cruise control, drive mode selection, ABS and ASR, lane control, driver fatigue sensor, brake assist, collision avoidance system and stabilization system.
All petrol versions of the Hyundai Kona 2020 are equipped with roof rails, LED headlights, adaptive lighting system, fuel-saving Start-Stop system, multifunction steering wheel and folding rear seats.
The basic options of the 2020 Hyundai Kona also include multimedia system with the possibility to use Carplay, Bluetooth and USB, while the top trim versions offer voice-activated multimedia systems suitable for Android Auto and smartphone wireless charging, audio system, leather steering wheel, power glass windows, power steering, and 2-zone climate control.
