Hyundai Tucson is a compact SUV from the South Korean car manufacturer, Hyundai Motor, produced since 2004. Both front and all-wheel drive versions are available. In 2020, the Israeli market offered the third generation Hyundai Tucson 5-Door SUV after the 2018 restyling.

The 2018/2019 Hyundai Tucson 5-Door 5-Seater SUV has the following dimensions: 4,480 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width, and wheelbase of 2,670 mm. The trunk volume reaches 488 liters.

Distinctive features

The new Tucson has become much better. It is bigger in size, while its exterior looks more attractive, and the interior has gained more power and sophistication. The SUV has become longer, wider and lower than its predecessor, has an increased distance between the axles and, accordingly, a more spacious interior. The design of the car has become more modern, being in harmony with the general corporate style of the company. The interior is finished with softer and higher quality materials. The list of basic and optional equipment has been significantly expanded.

Modifications

In Israel, the new Tucson comes as a front-wheel drive car with two petrol engine options. A 1.6-liter turbocharged engine producing 177 hp can accelerate to a speed of 201 km/h, while its average highway fuel consumption is 6.3 liters per 100 km. The engine is complemented by a 7-step robot unit. A 2-liter engine producing 155 hp enables the SUV to travel at a top speed of 181 km/h, and consumes a little more fuel, i.e. the average highway consumption reaches 6.9 liters per ‘hundred’. The engine is complemented by a 7-speed automatic transmission.

Trim versions

The 2020 Hyundai Tucson offers its Israeli buyers the Elite Turbo trim version with a 177-hp turbo engine. As for 155-hp engine modifications, there are 3 trim versions: Elite, Panoramic, and Prime Plus. All of them are equipped with a sunroof and panoramic roof (except for Prime Plus), interior lighting, roof rails and LED headlights.

All trim versions of the new SUV provide at least 8 airbags, including window airbags, central locking, rear camera, adaptive cruise control, driving mode selection system, ABS and ASR, lane control, driver fatigue sensor, hill start assist, automatic brake assist, collision avoidance system, stabilization system and steering stabilizer system.

All trim versions of the 2020 Hyundai Tucson comprise a multimedia system suitable for Android Auto, Carplay, Bluetooth and USB, audio system, rear window sunblind, tinted windows, power windows, active power steering, 2-zone climate control, electric folding mirrors, and adaptive lighting system.
