Kia Stinger. Farewell to the glorious model
The Kia Stinger is an eye-catching and stylish liftback, introduced in the South Korean manufacturer’s lineup in 2017. The car greatly contributed to the formation of the brand’s image, but, alas, in the last two years its popularity has dropped one and a half to two times in different markets, so in 2023 the Kia Stinger will be discontinued. To honor this glorious role model, Kia has decided to release a final Tribute Edition. The Kia Stinger Tribute is a beautiful car, created on the basis of the top-end modification with a 3.3-liter V6 gasoline engine producing 373 horsepower combined with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive. The final version is characterized by rich equipment and special decor. The batch will include a thousand copies for the whole world.
In Israel, the first generation Kia Stinger was offered in one of two rear-wheel-drive versions: with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 245 hp or with a 3.3-liter 6-cylinder V-engine with a capacity of 370 hp. Both are direct-injected and turbocharged, complemented by an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The first version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6 seconds and develops a maximum of 233 km/h, the second accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and develops 270 km/h!
Beauty
The 2023 Kia Stinger Tribute differs from the standard liftback only in design nuances. The Tribute Edition trim offers an exclusive body color called Moonscape (a matte dark gray hue). It will be combined with black accents on the side mirrors and brake calipers, and the 19-inch wheels will also be black. The interior will be trimmed in black and brown leather, and the front panel cover and door cards will be decorated with carbon-look elements. Emblems with a wasp will appear on the headrests, special version logos will appear on the seats, while the door sills will have liners with the serial number of a particular unit of the series.
Powertrains
All Tribute Edition cars will come with a twin-turbo V6 engine. This 3.3-liter engine is installed on the most powerful versions, the GT and GT Suede. It produces up to 370 hp and is combined with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. With it, the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds. By the way, the ideological successor of the Kia Stinger will be an electric car called Kia EV6 in a powerful GT version. The manufacturer guarantees that ‘environmental friendliness and high performance combine easily under the Kia logo’.
The new Kia EV6 is not yet available in Israel, but it is already on sale worldwide. The car is available in rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive versions, with 77 kWh or 58 kWh batteries. The EV6 GT all-wheel-drive version produces 585 hp and accelerates to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. This version will be marketed at the end of 2022.
