Jeep Grand Cherokee. 4 generation. 2013 restyling
Jeep Grand Cherokee is a mid-size all-wheel drive 5-Door SUV from the Italian-American automaker, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, produced by its Jeep ‘Off-Road’ Division since 1992. Currently, the fourth generation of this legendary SUV, recognized as the ‘Best SUV on the planet’, is available on the Israeli market.
Distinctive features
As a result of the 2013 restyling, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has changed its exterior, interior and equipment and has regained the first positions among similar models. With an improved design and sporty driving characteristics, the Big Cherokee has always stood out among SUVs. Standing out from the pack is a characteristic feature of the renewed Grand Cherokee.
Modifications
The upgraded Grand Cherokee is delivered to Israel as a four-wheel drive car only. The Jeep Grand Cherokee’s ground clearance varies from 205 to 218 mm, which provides the jeep with excellent off-road performance. The SUV is equipped with a 3.6-liter PENSTAR 6-cylinder V-shaped petrol engine that produces 286 hp. With such an engine, the jeep can accelerate to a speed of 206 km/h and has a decent acceleration for its size and weight to “hundred” in 8.3 seconds. The average fuel consumption is 10.4 liters per 100 km.
Trim versions
Despite the absence of variety of engines, the Israeli buyers will be able to choose from five trim versions of the Grand Cherokee: TRAILHAWK, LIMITED L, LIMITED PSR, LAREDO and LAREDO PLUS. The TRAILHAWK Grand Cherokee boasts a sunroof, panoramic roof, leather interior, heated steering wheel, front and rear seats, ventilation of the front seats, the complete parking assistance system with front and rear parking sensors and the possibility of automatic parking, full power steering wheel and seats, light and rain sensors, adaptive lighting and automatic headlight range control. The LIMITED PSR version is not much inferior to TRAILHAWK, except, perhaps, a slightly smaller set of options.
But even the ‘simplest’ trim versions of the Grand Cherokee for Israel, LAREDO and LAREDO PLUS, include 2-zone climate control, tinted windows, a full package of airbags, and a set of almost all modern safety and driver assistance systems, including ABS, ASR, brake assist (BAS, EBD, EBA), electronic stability program (ESP) and vehicle stability management (VSM), hill descent control (HDC), blind spot monitoring and drive mode selection. More expensive trim versions will also have lane control and collision avoidance system.
