Volkswagen Multivan Long Minivan. 6th generation, 2019 restyling
The Volkswagen Multivan is a front-wheel drive minibus, a luxury passenger version of the Transporter commercial van, produced since 1950. The market currently offers six generations of this popular vehicle. Starting in 2019, the world saw the restyled longer version of the Multivan, which is sold in Israel (as of 2021).
The Comfortline version of the 2019/2020 Volkswagen Multivan Long Minivan is 5,304 mm long and has a wheelbase of 3.4 m. The rest of the parameters do not differ from the ‘regular’ version. The trunk length behind the third row is 1,118 mm, and the total cab volume behind the front row of seats in the long wheelbase version reaches 5,000 liters.
Distinctive features
The Long 4-door minivan can accommodate 7 to 9 people. The restyled 2019 version features a slightly redesigned front end with narrower headlights (expensive trim levels offer LED headlights), a completely new front panel in the cab, and an electromechanical power steering. The list of electronic assistants includes a lane keeping assist system and a parking assistant. The new steering wheel has received more control keys following an increase in the number of optional equipment itself. The driver’s seat has been inspired by the digital era spirit. There is a new Digital Cockpit with a diagonal of 10.25 inches. The interior is completely transformable: the second row seats rotate 180 degrees, they can be folded together with the third row, and the vehicle can be used as a cargo van for large loads such as furniture.
Engines
The new Volkswagen Multivan Long is equipped with a 2-liter turbocharged diesel engine with 150 hp and a 7-speed DSG. The vehicle has front-wheel drive and independent spring suspension. The vehicle’s ground clearance is 178 mm. The engine is quite efficient. The manufacturer claims that its average fuel consumption within the city reaches 7.5 liters per 100 km and 6 liters per 100 km less on the highway.
Trim levels
The equipment list of the 2020/2021 Volkswagen Multivan Long includes: 4 airbags, a tire pressure sensor, a driver fatigue sensor, a rear camera, front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control.
