The Suzuki APV is a compact front-wheel drive minivan, which has been produced from 2004 to the present day (as of 2021) within the first generation, has never been updated and enjoys great popularity in Asian countries (Philippines, Indonesia, etc.) and Latin America. The 4.2 m long 6 or 7-seater 5-door vehicle is equipped with a single motor and two types of gearboxes to choose from.

The abbreviation APV is an abbreviation for "All Purpose Vehicle", which reflects the versatile nature of this vehicle.

Interesting fact

The Suzuki APV is equipped with a 1.6-liter in-line 4-cylinder gasoline engine with an output of 92 hp and a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission. Considering such a simple design, loyalty to its style for 17 years and low cost (significant savings on restyling!), the APV is unsurprisingly very popular in developing countries. The minivan is exported to such countries as Algeria, Barbados, Bolivia, Brunei, Chile, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Jamaica, Malaysia, the Middle East, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Singapore, Sudan, Thailand, as well as Trinidad and Tobago. Until 2018, the car was also sold in Australia.

The APV also had individual versions. So, in November 2007, Suzuki released an improved modification, the APV Arena (Type II in some countries). This minivan was offered in more expensive trim levels with a modified exterior and interior, as well as with a more powerful engine. The Suzuki APV served as a basis for the Mega Carry pickup (2005), which was produced until 2019, after which it was replaced by the new generation Suzuki Carry global model.

Let’s take a closer look at the Suzuki APV, which is sold in the Philippines today, to find out how the minivan is equipped. In this market, the minivan is offered in two trim levels, both with a manual transmission. Safety is ensured by two front airbags and bars in the doors. There are power windows and air conditioning. The multimedia system is equipped with an 8-inch screen and physical keys on the sides, and there are Bluetooth and USB functions. Moreover, you can choose from six body colors: white, silver, black, red, burgundy and gray.
