Hyundai Accent Sedan. 5th generation, 2020 restyling
The Hyundai Accent is a compact front-wheel drive sedan manufactured since 1994. The current fifth generation Accent is built on the same platform as the previous generation, but it has been redesigned. It has petrol engines, a 6-speed automatic transmission with manual mode, an independent MacPherson strut front suspension and a semi-independent rear suspension. In Israel, the car is offered in the Inspire version.
Distinctive features
The popular model underwent restyling in March 2020. Some cosmetic changes have been made to the exterior and interior. The car’s exterior is distinguished by an upgraded ‘front end’, featuring new LED headlights, as well as a new rear bumper, improved LED taillights. The car can now boast of a redesigned Supervision digital dashboard and a 1-inch larger multimedia screen.
But more importantly, the new Hyundai Accent has acquired completely new engines. The base unit is a 1.4-liter Kappa 16-valve G4LC distributed fuel injection engine, developing 100 hp at 6,000 rpm and 132 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. With it, the car accelerates to 100 km/h in 13.4 seconds, developing the maximum speed of 185 km/h and consuming 6.3 liters of petrol in the mixed mode.
A more powerful option is the Smartstream G1.6 Combined Fuel Injection engine. It is weaker than its 1.6 GDI predecessor in terms of power (123 hp at 6,300 rpm instead of 132 hp), but with it the Accent is half a liter more efficient. The combined fuel consumption is 6.9 liters per 100 kilometers. The engine produces 151 Nm of torque at 4,850 rpm. The top speed of this sedan is 192 km/h, while acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h occurs in 11.3 seconds.
