The Suzuki Ciaz is a compact car, a classic C-segment sedan, produced since 2014. In India, this is the most popular C-segment sedan: since 2014, Maruti Suzuki India Limited has sold more than 220,000 units. In 2018, the car underwent a scheduled restyling, after which it was slightly updated again in 2020. The model was sold not only in India, but also in China and the countries of Southeast Asia, and since 2022 Russia has been added to the list. Despite slightly resembling the popular Toyota Corolla, the car with a characteristic, purely Asian appearance is built on the platform of the second generation Suzuki SX4 SUV, well known in Israel as Suzuki S-Cross. The Suzuki Ciaz is distinguished by decent equipment, a spacious interior, a large trunk and small but fuel-efficient engines.

The price of the entry-level Suzuki Ciaz in India starts at 819,000 rupees, which is approximately 9,900 US dollars. So, it is quite a decent competitor to the updated 2023 Toyota Corolla, which now will cost at 153,990 shekels in Israel...

The Suzuki Ciaz is 4,490 mm long, 1,730 wide and 1,485 mm high. The wheelbase reaches 2,650 mm. The trunk volume, equal to 510 liters, at one time was considered the largest in its class. There were two engine options: a 1.4-liter gasoline engine (92 hp, 130 Nm) and a 1.3-liter diesel engine with 90 hp. Since October 2015, the car began to be supplemented with a mild hybrid system for a diesel engine, which made the car more fuel-efficient with the fuel consumption of 3.6 liters per 100 km. The advantages are good equipment, as even an entry-level version can offer climate control, a keyless engine start system, a multimedia system touch screen and a navigator, as well as an electric trunk. The list of options includes leather upholstery, a rearview camera, parking sensors and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

2018 restyling

The restyled Suzuki Ciaz looks more beautiful, featuring new bumpers and light-alloy 16-inch wheels. A multimedia system with a small LCD display now supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The superior versions have received chrome elements in the exterior, LED optics, wood decor on the front panel, overspeed and unfastened seat belt alarms. In India, the sedan’s main market, the 1.4-litre gasoline engine has been replaced with a 1.5-litre unit with 105 hp, paired with two gearboxes to choose from: a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox. In March 2019, the Fiat diesel engine was replaced with a 1.5-liter E15A diesel engine by Suzuki (95 hp, 225 Nm). Until February 2020, it was paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. In China, the Ciaz is equipped with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine (122 hp), coupled with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
