Aston Martin DBX is a premium crossover, which has been produced since 2019 by the British company Aston Martin. You could buy the first generation of this luxury crossover in Israel in 2020.

The 5-door 5-seater crossover 2019/2020 model year has dimensions: 5039 mm in length, 1998 mm in width, 1680 mm in height, wheelbase is 3060 mm, the trunk volume is 632 liters. The DBX has a full five-seater cabin with a spacious rear row that provides passengers in the rear with ample legroom. The panoramic roof is standard and creates an additional feeling of light and spaciousness in the second row.

Distinctive features

The new Aston Martin DBX is built on a completely own original platform, which is important in the ultra-luxury segment. The suspension is pneumatic with three possible height positions. Standard ground clearance is 190 millimeters. Active anti-roll bars powered by a 48-volt vehicle electrical system are also available. The drive is full, with flexible distribution of traction between the axles, and an electronically controlled differential is installed on the rear axle.

The DBX 2021 crossover looks compact, stylish, and very prestigious with full-size external dimensions. The body design of the novelty is based on the classic style of Aston Martin and several original layout solutions. The high rating status of the crossover determines the cabin comfort, maximum for its price category, dynamic starting, high-speed, and operating and consumption characteristics of the power unit.

A wide black perimeter and a dynamic angle of inclination of the panoramic windshield, sporty wave reliefs supplemented by slotted air intakes of the hood, teardrop-shaped blocks of matrix head optics located on the same level with the corporate logo, transverse-lamella radiator cladding, and vertical ventilation diffusers attract attention. There are door handles completely recessed into the body, the diagonal arrangement of the outlet diffuser, visually connecting the high wheel arches with an aggressive stepped profile in the structural features of the body. There are also plastic sill protectors and the original corporate design of one-piece off-road wheels.

Interior

The 2020 Aston Martin DBX interior is trimmed in special wool fabric or perforated leather. The top section of the multifunction steering wheel, which is free of structural elements, offers an excellent view of the digital instrument cluster. The center console includes a large-format media command display and an activation panel for numerous functional and ‘comfort’ options. Another touch panel is located at the front of the compact tunnel. The layout of the tunnel is completed with an extended set of organizers and a spacious freezer volume located under the double-folding armrest. The premium status of the crossover SUV is confirmed by the seating service. The front seats will receive several additional adjustments, ventilation, heating, and multi-mode vibration massage functions in the basic version.

Modifications

The 2021 all-wheel drive Aston Martin DBX is powered by a 4-liter AMG V8 bi-turbo gasoline engine with 550 hp. and 700 Nm of torque. The nine-speed automatic transmission with a classic torque converter and a transfer case with a front axle clutch is of ‘Mercedes’ origin. They are almost the same as those of the Mercedes GLE crossover. At the same time, the DBX crossover with a curb weight of 2245 kg can accelerate to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, and the maximum speed is limited at around 291 km/h.

Trim versions

The new Aston Martin DBX crossover is equipped with a panoramic roof, pedal pads, interior lighting, folding rear seats, leather interior, active air suspension, roof rails, LED headlights, and R22 wheels.

The basic configuration of the 2020/2021 DBX includes at least six airbags, central locking, immobilizer, all-round camera, driving mode selection system, and many electronic assistants and safety systems, including an anti-lock braking system, stabilization system, brake assist system, and collision avoidance, traction control, assistance when starting uphill and downhill, lane control and blind-spot control, road sign recognition.
