BMW X2. Dynamic and maneuverable
BMW X2 is a compact five-seat crossover from the German ‘BMW’ company that has been in production since 2017. Comes in both a front-wheel drive version and a four-wheel drive one. Nowadays the Israel market offers first generation BMW X2 SUV models.
Despite having a ‘big’ name – ‘a crossover’ – this X2 model is probably more of a hatchback. In appearance, it is quite similar to the X1 model, except for the roof that is now seven centimeters lower and the rear overhang that has been shortened by approximately the same amount. Its shape is indeed somewhat reminiscent of one of a hatchback.
Distinctive characteristics
Based on the UKL2 platform with east-west engine mounting, X2 can be considered a model that lies somewhere in between a big Mini model and a BMW X1 crossover one. But the main distinctive feature of the X2 vehicle is its improved driving characteristics which have been the main focus of attention for this model. Thanks to the lifted suspension with its special stabilizers and a more responsive steering wheel, this X2 raised hatchback model runs perfectly on coastal serpentines. Enters turns slowly, without any additional adjustments of the steering wheel. On slick roads and at reasonable speeds the off-road performance of X2 is so great that you eventually forget about it formally being a ‘road’ car.

In comparison to the X1 model, the X2 one has a better design in terms of both its exterior and its interior. On a familiar dashboard, there has been added some backstitching detailing, with a usual rotary drive selector now substituted by a non-locking one similar to the previous one in shape.
