Citroen С3. French urban style

Citroen C3 is a compact car produced by the French company Citroën that is a part of a joint unit PSA Peugeot Citroën. Classified as ‘B’ class and represents a small 5-door hatchback, though it had also produced a ‘convertible’ body. C3 got to market in September 2001 and has been renewed three times since. Nowadays in Israel, one can buy Citroen C3 2016.

First generation

First Citroen C3 generation produced from 2001 till 2012, passed through 2005 restyle. First C3 was built based on a PSA Peugeot Citroën - PF1 single platform that was used for the production of subcompact minivan Peugeot 1007 and 5-door hatchback Peugeot 207. Various C3 elements were adopted from Peugeot 206. All these cars are front-wheel drive. С3 is the first car produced by Citroën, that had a multiplex wiring from the beginning. And it was the first who got an advantage of diesel engines with a little total displacement. Additionally, the installation of a panoramic roof as an option was remarkable. Rich for this class equipment and a variety of versions allowed C3 to achieve a noticeable commercial success.

A restyled version of 2005 Citroen C3 became a little bit more delicate externally and more ‘powerful’ inside – with even more powerful, but also more eco-friendly diesel engines. Dashboard, as well as a center console and door panels, were renewed. The quality of materials was improved. The new features for comfortable driving, such as a speed limit device and new actuating levers for a Sensodrive transmission appeared.

Second generation

Citroen C3 second generation appeared in 2009 with a new body design and a panoramic windshield with a 108 degrees view. The same was installed on C4 Picasso. The second С3 became wider and longer than its predecessor and also got a new range of fuel-efficient engines produced in co-operation with BMW. The second generation was producing till June 2014 and got a restyle version in 2013 that appeared on the market till May 2016.

Third generation

In June 2016 Citroen C3 appeared in a completely new disguise, lose everything from the previous model, herewith save the same platform. The car got a wide range of external and internal personalization and a huge choice of additional useful equipment. The third generation car is geared to an active young audience, students, or family, who are willing to cut through the clutter.

Produced based on a previous PF1 platform, renamed as ‘PSA A platform’, nowadays new C3 is offered only in a 5-door hatchback version. This exact version is it sailed on an Israel market.
